Majáles – Student’s week

The main purpose of this traditional student event is to support and present creative student activities and to celebrate spring, love, and student life. Characteristic are parades of recessively dressed students and the election of King of Majáles. Majáles is a music festival, which includes mostly Czech musicians but also some foreign bands. This event also aims to advertise individual schools (universities, high schools, etc.). University students team up to cooperate in the preparation for the traditional event. The event is supplemented by a rich accompanying program. Tickets cost approximately 450 to 550 CZK [according to time of purchase).[38]
