The city of Hradec Králové has prepared four different walking routes, which are meant to help discover the city’s architecture. [127]

The Historic Town

contains monuments from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque era. This walking route includes 13 stands of brown color, which offer a brief description of each structure and monument. [62]

The Modern City

This walking route contains monuments from the turn of the 19th and 20th century. In this period the city was called „The Salon of the Republic“ mainly because of the work of the architects Jan Kotěra and Josef Gočár. This walking route has 11 stands of grey color. [62]

The Fortress

A military fortress was built in the town in 1766 and was later demolished. This walking route takes you through the remains of the fortress and has 11 stands of red color. [62]

Contemporary architecture

This walking route contains 12 stands of black color and takes you through the contemporary architectural monuments of the city. [62]
